“Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance.”

Him and Her,
Side by Side.
Him and Her,
Always Together.
Him and Her,
Homer and Marge.
Him and Her,
Sun and Moon.
Him and her.
They love each other
Him and Her,
Gone like the wind.
Him and Her,
No one and Nothing.
Him and Her,
Not Homer and Marge.
Him and Her,
Not Sun and Moon.
Nothing.
Him and Her.
Just a memory.

So much disparity among us
Not much sense in being tawdry
…
To me, at least
And,
Ringo turns 70 this week.
I don’t like the art of noise
Nor the openness of silence
I do like the honesty of both
However, it doesn’t take much
To heap a cheap man!
All these thoughts
Jam my brain
How could it make sense
To the common man?
I’d give you the privilege
To walk inside my brain
But I’ll reserve that
For my adoring husband
It’s getting foggy now
It wasn’t when we started
I think I should take a nap
Maybe it’ll stir things up
And land in a dream
How can it be…
Ringo turns 70 this week?

“one pale woman all alone,
The daylight kissing her wan hair,
Loitered beneath the gas lamps’ flare,
With lips of flame and heart of stone.”

“I rest
I have travelled.
I have seen the goof city.
I have seen the mass mess.
I have heard a trombone preach.
I have slept in a hundred islands,
where books were trees.
I have heard the birds,
that sound like bells
I read the want ads daily
looking for a stone a leaf
an unfound door.”
Lawrence Ferlinghetti
I was pouring my heart out
to him in the
kitchen when his
iphone rang.
he answered it
without thinking.
he was:
a. so secure in our deep, abiding love that he already knew all that mushy
stuff and found my verbal vulnerability redundant. or
b. he was preoccupied, as usual. or
c. he wasn’t listening in the first place; I mean my lips moved but
the sound was on
mute.choose one, please.
“And there never was an apple, in Adam’s opinion, that wasn’t worth the trouble you got into for eating it.”
- Neil Gaiman

Perfume smells good
Perfume smells sweet
Perfume smells awesome
Perfume smells ka deet
Perfume smells good
Perfume smells sweet
Perfume smells like everything
That you love
You can get
Different shades of perfume
In so many different kinds
In so many different ways
In so many different smells
Perfume is great
I love it
My grandma showed me
All her perfumes with different smells
One smelled like chocolate
She has so many different
Kinds of perfume
One has a very nice bottle
But it’s really expensive
And I love that one
With the beautiful bottle
