“Word Play Poem” by Brandon Lee Bjornson (age 12)

Him and Her,
Side by Side.
Him and Her,
Always Together.
Him and Her,
Homer and Marge.
Him and Her,
Sun and Moon.
Him and her.
They love each other
Him and Her,
Gone like the wind.
Him and Her,
No one and Nothing.
Him and Her,
Not Homer and Marge.
Him and Her,
Not Sun and Moon.
Nothing.
Him and Her.
Just a memory.

How old are you – twelve? Crikey, this is good for most adults, let alone a nearly-in-your-teens person. I like the way you used cartoon characters and played with the idea of their reality (no one and nothing) and compared it to real people’s relationships (they loved each other/just a memory). These life puzzles, the things that we can’t understand or feel comfortable with, these are often the ideal subjects for poetry and stories.
Keep up the good work, Brandon. I look forward to reading more of your poetry.

It’s good to see young talent writing with the coffin dogers!!
I enjoyed reading this Brandon… As Homer might say. “Give me another beer Marge and I will read the next one twice”
