“all the way home” by Thayer/Ferry

he just kept playin’ and blowin’ his blue notes

into the echos of his emptiness

hitting notes of all our

emptiness

as we listened to our heart strings

and our matter of factness

being  pulled back

we would forget what time it was

cause it stopped mattering

as his belly blew the melancholy

reaching right through us

reaching deep into us

reaching each other

as he took us

all the way home

This poem, like the blues musician-magician, held me back as I took it in, forgot the time and remembered the connection

Lovely poem – didn’t need a photograph, but the one you’ve given is stunning. The black and white gave it the perfect aura-setting.

Lisa, now you’ve added poetry musician to your ever expanding litany of creative endeavors. This just wonderful, the language and rhythm set my feet a tap, tap, tappin’. I also loved the visual look of the poem on the page. Keep on keeping on because you’re something else.
