“Burning Fruit, Man On Top, Aching Sun” by L. K. Thayer

Posted in Photo, Poetry with tags , , , , , , on November 30, 2010 by lkthayer

Burning fruit, man on top, aching sun
Dark aroma of  bittersweet, crash of sea and stars
What magic do you hold inside your timber?
What amorous light surrounds me with your glance?
Oh, infatuation is a tunnel of twists and turns
Through smothering vapors, cutting switches for foreplay
Love is a mischievous temptress
And two bodies on fire with a sulfur spark
Kissing and licking I devour your beast
Your stanzas, your sea foam, your effervescence
And pulsating poetry, throbbing with wit and flair
Caressing my thighs, warming my fire place
You harden at the sight of my name
We ponder into infinity

You wouldn’t believe On All Hallow Eve What lots of fun we can make, With apples to bob, And nuts on the hob,

And a ring-and-thimble cake.

Art is never chaste. It ought to be forbidden to ignorant innocents, never allowed into contact with those not sufficiently prepared. Yes, art is dangerous. Where it is chaste, it is not art.”  – Pablo Picasso

“Survival Stew” by Roz Levine

Posted in Guest Squeeze, Poetry with tags , , , , , , , on November 27, 2010 by lkthayer

I chew on survival stew
Gobble everything on my plate
Gulp down hearty chunks
To my bone marrow
I chewed up lymphoma
Swallowed breast cancer
Chomped on a ruptured appendix
Sipped on blood soup
After a great slip and fall
I chew on survival stew
Stuff this body on gratitude
For every sunburst
And cloud storm
For rain drops on splish splash
Against rooftop shingles
I stuff this body on gratitude
For granddaughters’ hugs
For husband’s kisses
For lifelong friendships
On bird of paradise bloom
I stuff this body to overflow
Savor every sweet morsel
Of every little bit on my plate

“MY LIFE THIS WEEK” by Bob Abramson

Posted in Guest Squeeze, Poetry with tags , , on November 26, 2010 by lkthayer
I feel like I’ve been led down the primrose path.
It started like a new beginning was unfolding.
I was told I was a great friend, why don’t we take it to the next level?
When I responded of my inadequacy, you left me like the wind.
The table was set, but for others.
Being left out of all the love in your house at Thanksgiving was going to be hard to take.
It appeared to your friends that you were enamored with a young marine.
You denied it.
Funny, he got the invite, I got left in the cold.
Time to move on.
Happy T.

“For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.”
